Job Description

Header Job Overview It is the responsibility of the Director of Staffing and Development to support operations in recruiting, teaching best HR practices, and retaining the best electricians and associates. Their key role is to assist operations to be fully staffed for current needs as well for future growth, according to staffing plans. The Director of Staffing and Development works with operations to build an environment that fosters a commitment to the MD Electric Mission and Values and Operating Principles and Systems. The Director of Staffing and Development position requires a person with a strong developmental orientation towards people to support field electric install and service operations as well as supporting the home office staff. Responsibilities Staffing
  • Develop monthly management staffing projections with the leadership team.
  • Develop recruiting plans and methods to generate sufficient applicant flow to meet staffing goals
  • Develops and designs recruiting materials, programs and events
  • Represents MD Electric at community recruiting events: job fairs, schools, community organizations
  • Establishes a retention plan within the company Electrician Planning and Development
  • Ensures proper on-boarding systems are in place.
  • Ensures proper orientation sessions are conducted for new hires.
  • Ensures new hires are given their book for training and that the new hires fully understand its use and expectations that come with it.
  • Establishes a performance review process.
  • Manages the performance review process by establishing a schedule and communicating to all parties time and dates for performance reviews.
  • Consults with MD Electric Leadership to review the skills, abilities and potential of the Electricians in the company and make recommendations to strengthen the team.
  • With Electric Operations Leaders, Identifies development needs of electricians
  • Provides career counseling support to operations
  • Teaches leaders and managers to give correct and effective feedback to electricians Working Environment/Legal Compliance
  • Implements a compensation plan including pay ranges for the company
  • Provides on site training for managers on legal compliance
  • Works with the leadership team to provide a stable, positive and fun working environment
  • Ensures the fair and equal treatment of all associates by establishing relationships.
  • Meet regularly with all Electricians, especially during the new employees' first 6 months.
  • Consults with Operations regarding performance and disciplinary issues
  • Maintains Employee Handbook and company policies to ensure legal compliance. Manages Costs
  • Develops annual budget for recruiting and personal costs
  • Plans expenses and controls costs Personal Growth
