Full Job Description Schedule:
Full-time M - F, some evenings may be required On-site at San Diego office required 1 - 2 times per month. Approx. 20 hours per month travel required to N. CA, TX, NM, and other States. About CoronadoDC CoronadoDC is a growing government furniture dealership and installation company serving federal, state, local government, and commercial clients throughout the United States. We provide furniture procurement, project management, installation, and related services for a wide range of workplace environments. We currently employ approximately 20 full-time team members and work with contractors and installation crews throughout the country. As we continue expanding into new markets and states, we are seeking an experienced HR professional to help build scalable people systems that support our growth. Position Overview The HR & Talent Development Manager will lead recruiting, onboarding, employee development, HR compliance, and employee engagement initiatives across the organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and helping managers become more effective leaders. The successful candidate will partner closely with supervisors and leadership to create scalable HR programs while ensuring compliance and a positive employee experience. This position will play a key role in supporting CoronadoDC's growth as we expand our workforce and operations into additional states. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Manage full-cycle recruiting for company positions. Develop and maintain recruiting strategies, job postings, and candidate pipelines. Coordinate interviews, candidate evaluations, and offer processes. Partner with hiring managers to improve hiring effectiveness. Build recruiting processes and metrics to support company growth. Support hiring efforts for approximately 10-15 new employees annually. Onboarding & Employee Experience Design and manage company onboarding programs. Develop onboarding materials, checklists, and training plans. Ensure new employees have a successful transition into the organization. Continuously improve the onboarding experience and employee engagement. Employee Development & Performance Management Create and manage employee development programs. Develop performance review and goal-setting processes. Partner with supervisors to improve coaching, accountability, and employee growth. Help managers implement best practices for performance management and employee development. Support leadership development initiatives throughout the organization. Human Resources & Compliance Maintain compliance with California employment laws and HR best practices. Support multi-state HR compliance as the company expands. Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and policy administration. Assist with employee relations matters and workplace investigations when needed. Coordinate workers' compensation and related HR programs. Support employee handbook updates and policy development. HR Systems & Process Improvement Build scalable HR systems, workflows, and documentation. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and employee experience. Create tools and resources that empower supervisors to effectively manage their teams. Partner with leadership to strengthen company culture and support organizational growth. Qualifications Required 3+ years of Recruiting experience required 3+ years of HR and labor law experience required. Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR practices. Experience in recruiting, onboarding, and employee development. Experience creating or improving HR processes and systems. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. California residency required. Preferred Experience supporting employees in multiple states. Experience working in a growing small business environment. Experience in construction, logistics, operations, manufacturing, furniture, or related industries. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or related HR certification. Experience implementing performance management and leadership development programs.
