About the Role The Head of People & Talent Acquisition is responsible for finding, hiring, developing, and retaining exceptional team members across every Bonnie & Clydes location. This position owns the entire employee lifecycle—from attracting top talent and conducting interviews to onboarding, training coordination, performance tracking, coaching systems, succession planning, and employee development. You will work directly with executive leadership and operations to ensure every location is fully staffed with high-performing team members while building scalable people systems that support rapid company growth. This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role. You won't simply fill positions—you'll build the team that builds the company. What Success Looks Like A successful Head of People creates an organization where: Every open position has a strong pipeline of qualified candidates. Managers spend less time hiring and more time leading. New hires are onboarded quickly and consistently. High performers stay, grow, and are promoted. Underperformance is identified early and addressed professionally. Every employee clearly understands expectations, goals, and career opportunities. Leadership always knows who their next Shift Leads, Managers, and General Managers will be. Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition Own all company recruiting efforts across multiple locations. Develop recruiting strategies to consistently attract top talent. Manage hiring platforms including Indeed, LinkedIn, Poached, Culinary Agents, and other hospitality recruiting channels. Build relationships with culinary schools, universities, hospitality programs, and community organizations. Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates even when positions are not immediately available. Continuously improve recruiting efficiency, hiring quality, and cost per hire. Interviewing & Selection Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews. Coordinate interviews with department leaders. Evaluate candidates using structured interview systems. Assess both technical ability and cultural fit. Complete reference checks and background verification when required. Extend offers and negotiate employment packages within company guidelines. Onboarding & Employee Experience Own the onboarding process from offer acceptance through successful completion of training. Coordinate orientation, paperwork, payroll setup, uniforms, and technology access. Ensure every employee receives a consistent first-day and first-week experience. Monitor new hire progress through their first 30, 60, and 90 days. Improve retention through thoughtful onboarding and employee engagement. Performance Management Build and manage company performance review systems. Track employee performance across all departments. Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, guest feedback, training completion, and leadership development. Work with managers to identify coaching opportunities. Develop performance improvement plans when necessary. Recognize and celebrate outstanding performance. Leadership Development Help identify future Shift Leads, Kitchen Managers, Assistant Managers, General Managers, and multi-unit leaders. Coordinate leadership development programs. Build clear career pathways for every position. Assist department leaders with coaching conversations and employee development. Organizational Development Develop hiring processes that scale as the company grows. Create standardized interview guides and evaluation scorecards. Build employee handbooks, onboarding materials, SOPs, and people policies. Ensure consistency across every location. Improve communication between operations and employees. Employee Relations Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leadership. Assist managers with coaching, conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and employee concerns. Help maintain a positive, accountable, and respectful workplace culture. Ensure company policies are consistently applied. HR Administration Maintain employee records and personnel files. Coordinate compliance with employment laws and company policies. Assist with benefits administration and enrollment. Support payroll coordination when necessary. Maintain confidentiality regarding employee information. Metrics & Reporting Track and regularly report key people metrics including: Time to hire Cost per hire Applicant conversion rates New hire retention 30/60/90-day retention Employee turnover Performance review completion Internal promotions Training completion Staffing levels by location Labor forecasting support Leadership bench strength Provide weekly and monthly reporting to executive leadership with actionable recommendations. QualificationsRequired 3+ years of recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, operations, or people leadership experience. Experience hiring hourly employees in hospitality, restaurants, retail, or service industries. Exceptional communication and interviewing skills. Strong organizational and project management abilities. Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously. High emotional intelligence and professional judgment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret hiring and performance data. Preferred Multi-unit restaurant experience. Experience building recruiting systems from the ground up. Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, payroll platforms, and scheduling software. Experience using Indeed Employer, LinkedIn Recruiter, Toast Payroll, Gusto, or similar platforms. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Hospitality Management, Psychology, or related field. Ideal Candidate Traits The ideal Head of People is: An exceptional judge of character.
