Job Description

Description We are looking for an experienced Learning & Development Manager to support an educational institution through a contract assignment. This role will guide organization-wide learning and development efforts that strengthen leadership effectiveness, employee growth, and a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate will partner with leaders to identify development priorities, build practical learning programs, and help align training initiatives with institutional goals and compliance expectations.
Responsibilities:
  • Create and lead a broad organizational development strategy that supports leadership capability, employee development, performance practices, and institutional culture.
  • Design structured learning programs and development pathways that encourage leadership growth, change readiness, and ongoing improvement across departments.
  • Partner with senior leaders to evaluate current operations, anticipate future development needs, and recommend learning solutions that advance institutional objectives.
  • Develop and deliver training initiatives that reinforce compliance with board policies as well as applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Assess the effectiveness of development programs through feedback, analysis, and measurable outcomes, then refine offerings based on results.
  • Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and team-based learning experiences that enhance communication, collaboration, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Establish tools, frameworks, and resources that help managers support employee performance and career development.
  • Work across departments to promote consistent learning practices and foster a culture that values growth and accountability. Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in learning and development, organizational development, or a related leadership-focused role.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement learning strategies that support organizational goals and workforce development.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership to assess needs, prioritize initiatives, and drive change.
  • Strong knowledge of training practices related to compliance, performance development, and leadership education.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Ability to analyze processes, identify development gaps, and translate findings into actionable programs.
  • Experience with administrative and communication tools such as donor management systems, Raiser's Edge, mail merge, audit report drafting, and correspondence preparation.
