This is a hands-on role combining technical expertise, training, mentorship, quality, and safety oversight . It could be an excellent next step for an experienced generator or field service technician who enjoys troubleshooting, teaching others, and helping technicians develop their skills. Responsibilities Develop and deliver technician onboarding, technical training, and continuing development programs. Coach and mentor technicians through hands-on training, field observations, and ride-alongs. Assess technician skills and create development plans to support technical growth and career progression. Develop SOPs, troubleshooting guides, training materials, and field reference resources. Support quality initiatives and identify opportunities to improve troubleshooting, workmanship, and first-time fix rates. Promote safe work practices and support OSHA, DOT, PPE, and company safety requirements. Support technical recruiting, technician certifications, and competency assessments. Partner with Operations leadership to continuously improve technician performance, safety, and service quality. Qualifications Strong hands-on experience in generator service, field service, industrial equipment, power systems, or a related electromechanical environment . Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills , including controls, wiring, engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, pumps, and related equipment. Practical plumbing and piping experience , particularly with fuel, coolant, and fluid systems. Generator experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with generator controls, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), starting systems, batteries, and charging systems. Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, or develop other technicians . Formal training experience is not required. Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment systematically and explain technical concepts clearly. Strong commitment to safety; familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and field safety requirements preferred. Experience developing or contributing to SOPs, technical documentation, or training materials is preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Bachelor's degree in a related field is welcome, but equivalent technical and field experience will be considered . Who Should Apply? You don't need to have "Training Manager" on your resume.
