Skip to Main Content Toggle navigation Home Search Jobs Log In /Create Account Help CCC Home Vice President of Economic & Workforce Development Bookmark this Posting Print Preview | Apply for this Job Posting Details Position Information Job Title Vice President of Economic & Workforce Development Job Description Coordinate, assist, and supervise all the roles and activities of programs administrated in the Continuing Education Department with the overall mission of the College; provide recommendations to the President dealing with budget preparation, staff selection, approval processes, purchasing and administration of any other operational procedures. Essential Duties Summary Participate in the President's Cabinet in policy and procedure development and be responsible for implementation of policies and procedures. Provide vision and leadership in the development of training programs that support economic and workforce development in the college's service area. Provide vision, leadership, and supervision of continuing education program areas including Occupational Extension, Community & Personal Interest, Customized Industry Training, Workforce Development, College & Career Readiness, Prison IMPACT Programs, and the Small Business Center. Responsible for the oversight and compliance of all programs with the regulations/laws of the NCCCS , State, Federal, local jurisdictions, and accrediting agencies. Participate in annual and strategic planning for the College. Monitor spending within assigned operational budgets and prioritize capital spending requests. Develop appropriate partnerships with employers, non-profits, and government agencies to promote the College and Continuing Education. Make recommendations to the President concerning the employment of Continuing Education personnel. Coordinate and supervise the Internal Continuing Education Audit of the College. Approve the Continuing Education course schedule. Attend Board meetings as required. Make reports when requested. Serve on committees assigned. Performs other duties as assigned and other related duties incident to the work described herein. Salary Range Salary range $107,464 to $161,196. Required Qualifications Required Qualifications Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution required. Five plus years of successful and progressively responsible experience in management and leadership required. Background in workforce development, economic development, training, and/or continuing education required. Evidence of leadership in developing innovative strategies to support program development, success, and increased market share required. Skills and Abilities Ability to work effectively and collegially with others Skill in the use of computers and commitment to use of technology Experience with current version of MS Office or similar programs Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure strong rapport and collaborative relationships with industry customers Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change. Provide exceptional customer service with people internal and external to the institution Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college Effectiveness in the following College organizational competencies:

  • Providing vision and leadership Flexible and adapts to change Ability to multi-task with multiple departments and activities of others Preferred Qualifications Community college experience preferred.
Ten plus years' experience in management and leadership preferred. Physical Demands ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information, analyze data, make assessments, and exercise good judgment to make decisions; possess ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus; and effective use of all forms of communication (oral, visual, auditory), including use of computers. Be able to lift weights up to 10 pounds on a regular basis.
