State Department Federal Credit Union is seeking a Supervisor, Training & Development who will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Learning & Development function. This role supervises team members, coordinates learning programs, supports the effective delivery of onboarding and employee development initiatives, and partners with managers and department leaders to strengthen employee capability and performance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach, and develop Learning & Development team members to support individual and team performance. Establish priorities, manage workloads, and monitor progress toward departmental goals. Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and performance support to team members. Promote consistency, quality, and accountability across learning programs. Coordinate daily operations for the Learning & Development function, including program scheduling, logistics, and administrative support. Oversee learning calendars, program logistics, and delivery readiness. Facilitate onboarding, employee development, and organizational learning programs that support employee growth and business needs. Support virtual, in-person, and blended learning experiences. Serve as a primary contact for day-to-day learning requests, questions, and support needs. Partner with managers and subject matter experts to support learning initiatives.
Qualifications Required Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience, certifications, and demonstrated expertise may be considered. Three to five years of experience in training, learning and development, talent development, or a related field. Strong communication, organization, facilitation, and relationship-building skills. Experience facilitating instructor-led, virtual, and/or blended learning programs. Background in leading projects and coordinating programs. Demonstrated ability to coach, delegate, and/or supervise employees or project teams. Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and learning technologies. Proficiency with learning technologies, Microsoft 365 applications, and tools used to manage, deliver, and track learning programs. Experience in a financial services retail branch and/or call center environment preferred.
