Description Robert Half is helping a prestigious client look for an experienced Learning and Development Manager to lead the design, delivery, and administration of impactful employee learning programs in Memphis, Tennessee. This role partners closely with business leaders and internal experts to turn organizational goals into practical development experiences that strengthen performance and growth. The position also oversees learning operations, coordinates program execution, and uses data-driven insights to improve training effectiveness across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leaders and internal subject matter experts to assess capability gaps, define development priorities, and recommend effective learning solutions.
- Create and deliver training programs in multiple formats, including classroom, virtual, blended, and self-paced digital learning, to support onboarding, leadership growth, and career development.
- Develop high-quality instructional materials such as facilitator guides, learner resources, job aids, activities, and knowledge checks that reinforce learning outcomes.
- Prepare and support internal presenters and content experts so they can confidently deliver training programs aligned with organizational standards.
- Oversee daily administration of the learning management system and related platforms, including course setup, enrollments, attendance tracking, completions, and content maintenance.
- Coordinate training calendars, participant communications, materials, technology, facilities, and vendor arrangements to ensure smooth program delivery.
- Lead learning and talent initiatives from planning through rollout by managing timelines, implementation steps, communication plans, and project milestones.
- Monitor program feedback, participation trends, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen learning impact.
- Maintain documentation, templates, and standard processes that improve consistency, efficiency, and scalability across learning operations. Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in learning and development, talent development, or a related human resources function.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning practices.
- Experience facilitating training sessions for diverse audiences in both in-person and virtual environments.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficiency with learning management systems, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools used to administer and evaluate training programs.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with leaders, employees, and subject matter experts across the organization.
- Background in onboarding, leadership development, and broader employee development initiatives.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into practical learning strategies.
