As a Senior Technical Trainer, you will help strengthen Rain Bird's position as an industry-leading provider of irrigation education by delivering high‑impact training that advances knowledge, skill, and professionalism across the field. In this role, your irrigation background is essential. You will embrace emerging technologies, stay curious, and continually expand your expertise as new tools, products, and techniques evolve in this fast‑moving industry. You will lead one or more of Rain Bird Academy's for‑profit training programs, delivering instruction through both livestream and in‑person classroom formats across domestic and global markets. Your knowledge, energy, and leadership will empower technicians, contractors, distributors, designers, and aspiring professionals to build confidence and mastery in irrigation fundamentals, products, and best practices. You will take ownership of the training programs you lead, from scheduling and curriculum development to live instruction and program growth. This position is ideal for a dynamic communicator who enjoys engaging learners, shaping meaningful educational experiences, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and representing Rain Bird with professionalism and pride. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality livestream and in‑classroom training sessions up to 70% of the time Ensure training program(s) includes the ideal mix of classes to meet customer and market needs. Directly involved in the development and continuous improvement of new and existing course curriculum, ensuring alignment with Rain Bird branding and product direction. Set up and manage training events, coordinating instructors, logistics, materials, and technology for seamless learning experiences. Build and maintain strong working relationships with Rain Bird teams, irrigation contractors, distributors, landscape architects, and other industry partners. Open travel overnight up to 70% of the year during peak season, representing Rain Bird professionally at training sessions and events. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent presenter and communicator. At least 3 years of experience presenting, training, coaching or teaching in professional situations. Undergraduate degree or industry certifications + 5 or more years relevant irrigation experience. Demonstrated ability to own projects and drive them to completion.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Online training development, course development, or learning management experience. Services management experience. Experience developing and managing teams. Rain Bird is an equal opportunity employer
