Development Assistant Organization Description Support The Enlisted Project (STEP) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to improve financial wellness and combat food insecurity, homelessness, mental health conditions, suicide, and other crises through counseling, education, and financial support for enlisted service members, Veterans, and their families.

$26/hour

Position Overview This is a high-reliability, detailed-oriented support role that keeps STEP's development operations organized, accurate and running smoothly day-to-day. You will manage core administrative functions including Salesforce data entry, gift processing, acknowledgment letters and emails, event logistics, and social media scheduling. This role is structured, repeatable, and process-driven—ideal for someone who takes pride in getting the details right, thrives on organization, consistency, and getting things done efficiently and accurately. You will provide direct support to the Development Manager, Senior Development Specialist and broader development team by ensuring operational details are handled accurately, deadlines are met, records are maintained, and all tasks are completed with strong attention to detail and follow-through.

Key Responsibilities CRM:

Salesforce & Gift Processing (Core Priority): Enter and maintain accurate donor data in Salesforce Process gifts, pledges, and acknowledgments in a timely manner Run reports and support data integrity Review information for errors, missing details and inconsistencies Assist with reconciliation support alongside

Development and Operations Administrative & Operational Support:

Maintain organized donor and campaign records Track deadlines, tasks, and follow-ups for the development team Prepare materials for meetings, mailings, and donor outreach Help keep day-to-day development activities organized and scheduled

Event Support:

Assist with logistics for fundraising events (materials, timelines, vendors) Support pre- and post-event tasks including guest lists and follow-up Help ensure smooth execution of development activities

Social Media & Communications Support:

Schedule and post content for development campaigns Assist with basic Canva updates and content formatting Support consistency in messaging across platforms Review content for accuracy, consistency and completeness before posting

In-Kind Donations:

Track and support in-kind donations and related documentation

•Coordinate with internal teams to ensure proper acknowledgment Qualifications & Skill 1-2 years of administrative or nonprofit experience required Experience with Salesforce or CRM systems strongly preferred Strong attention to detail and highly organized Ability to manage repeatable processes with consistency and accuracy Comfortable working with spreadsheets, databases, and other administrative systems Comfortable with basic social media platforms and tools (preferably Canva) Reliable, proactive, and team-oriented Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred Takes pride in being the person the team can count on to get the details right Why Join STEP?
