Local •The Opportunity:
As a Joint Concepts Integrator supporting the SCOPES Program, you will help shape the future of Joint operations by integrating emerging warfighting concepts into USSOUTHCOM's training, exercises, and operational planning. Working with Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Service Components, and Department of Defense stakeholders, you will coordinate concept development, support wargaming initiatives, and translate strategic concepts into practical capabilities that strengthen Combatant Command readiness and operational effectiveness across the Western Hemisphere.Responsibilities:
- Lead USSOUTHCOM's coordination and integration of Joint Warfighting Concepts (JWC), ensuring alignment with Joint Staff priorities and Combatant Command objectives.
- Coordinate and support
USSOUTHCOM
participation in Joint concept development activities, wargames, planning events, and experimentation initiatives across the Department of Defense.- Integrate Joint Warfighting Concepts into command exercises, wargames, and training events to improve operational readiness and future force development.
- Prepare senior leaders for Joint Concept discussions, planning sessions, and wargames by developing executive briefings, information papers, decision papers, and recommendations.
- Represent
USSOUTHCOM
during Joint Concept working groups and DoD wargaming forums, ensuring Command priorities and operational equities are effectively communicated.- Support Joint training assessments, doctrine development, lessons learned integration, and organizational initiatives that advance future operational capabilities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on emerging Joint concepts, strategic planning, and capability development while supporting Crisis Action Team activities and other mission requirements as needed
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- Experience supporting Joint operations, Combatant Command staffs, operational planning, Joint training, wargaming, or concept development.
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop long-range planning products, executive-level information papers, decision papers, and senior leader briefings.
- Strong understanding of Joint doctrine, military staff processes, Service capabilities, and Joint operational planning.
- Excellent analytical, writing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to collaborate across senior military and civilian organizations.
Desired:
- Experience supporting Joint Warfighting Concepts (JWC), Department of Defense wargaming, experimentation, or capability development initiatives.
- Experience working within a Geographic Combatant Command, Joint Staff, Service headquarters, or Joint training organization.
- Experience supporting doctrine development, training assessments, or Joint Lessons Learned programs.
