This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new opportunities with airlines, aviation training organizations, military training commands, government agencies, defense contractors, OEMs, and simulation training centers throughout North America. The ideal candidate is an aggressive business developer with a proven track record of generating new revenue, building strategic relationships, and navigating complex sales cycles involving training technologies, simulation systems, aerospace solutions, and professional services. This is a quota-carrying role requiring a strong hunter mentality, disciplined prospecting, and the ability to engage executive-level decision-makers. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Sales Prospect, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within commercial aviation, military, defense, government, and aerospace training organizations. Execute strategic account plans to identify new customer acquisition opportunities. Build and maintain a robust pipeline through networking, industry events, referrals, cold outreach, and market intelligence. Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and solution briefings. Lead opportunities from prospecting through contract negotiation and award. Meet or exceed annual revenue, booking, and pipeline objectives. Strategic Relationship Management Develop relationships with senior executives, training leaders, procurement personnel, government stakeholders, and program managers. Establish trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers. Collaborate with internal technical, operational, and executive teams to develop winning customer solutions. Market Intelligence Monitor industry trends across pilot training, simulation, military readiness, aerospace modernization, and training technologies. Identify competitive threats, market opportunities, and emerging customer requirements. Provide regular customer and market feedback to leadership. Industry Representation Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, military events, and industry exhibitions. Support marketing initiatives and lead-generation campaigns. Act as a company ambassador within the aviation and defense training communities. CRM & Reporting Maintain accurate pipeline forecasting and customer activity within CRM systems. Provide monthly sales forecasts and business development reports. Track opportunity progress and ensure timely follow-up activities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation, Aerospace, Military Studies, Engineering, or related field. 3-7 years of outside sales, business development, or account management experience. Demonstrated success in hunter-style B2B sales. Experience selling into commercial aviation, aerospace, defense, government, simulation, training, technology, or related industries. Strong consultative selling and relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to travel approximately 40-60% throughout the United States. Preferred Qualifications Experience selling aviation simulation, pilot training systems, defense training solutions, or aerospace technologies. Knowledge of military procurement processes and defense acquisition programs. Prior military aviation, pilot training, simulator operations, or aerospace industry experience. Familiarity with FAA, DoD, military training, or aviation regulatory environments. Existing relationships within airlines, military organizations, defense contractors, or aviation training providers.
