Job Description

State of Idaho Career Opportunity Applications will be accepted through 11:59 PM MST on the posting end date. The mission of the Idaho Department of Labor is to support individuals through career transitions, determine benefit eligibility, connect employers with workers and oversee tax and labor law compliance. This position supports the development, registration, implementation, expansion, and monitoring of Registered Apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs across Idaho. Embedded within IDCTE, the coordinator collaborates with education, employers, apprenticeship sponsors, and workforce partners to strengthen career pathways, provides technical assistance and resource support, and helps expand apprenticeship opportunities in high-demand industries, including education, healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and skilled trades. This position will be located in downtown Boise. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Key Job Responsibilities This position expands Registered Apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship opportunities across Idaho by: Developing and supporting apprenticeship programs in priority and emerging industries. Providing technical assistance, training, and compliance support to employers, sponsors, education providers, and workforce partners. Connecting IDCTE, education, employers, apprenticeships, and workforce systems to strengthen career pathways. Supporting the administration and expansion of the Teacher Apprenticeship Program. Monitoring program performance, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring state and federal compliance. Building statewide partnerships and representing
IDOL/IDCTE
in apprenticeship initiatives. Supporting apprentices and prospective apprentices in accessing training, employment, and workforce resources. Preparing reports, presentations, guidance, and other program materials while managing multiple projects and priorities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- You must possess all the minimum and specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Good knowledge of:
Local workforce development office operations and service delivery systems. Typically gained by one year experience providing technical support for office activities which demonstrate office knowledge in a broad scope and beyond one program area. Computerized applications used within the local office environment . Typically gained by one year of experience utilizing computer applications used in the local office environment, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and IdahoWorks.
Experience:
Interpreting and applying federal employment service programs, regulations, and procedures. Typically gained one year of experience working with federal/state employment service or training programs, and interpreting and applying regulations and procedures. Developing and presenting training to groups in a formal setting. Typically gained by experience developing and presenting training for a minimum of 10 hours of presentation time. Preferred Qualifications Experience in workforce development, Registered Apprenticeship, human resources, employee training, or program management. Strong project management, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills. Knowledge of apprenticeship programs, workforce development, and public sector human resources practices. Experience interpreting policies, regulations, and compliance requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using case management, customer relationship management, apprenticeship registration, or similar program systems.
