Job Description:
Deeper Roots Coffee(DRC) is a specialty wholesale coffee roaster located in Cincinnati, OH. The DRC Training Coordinator will be responsible for promoting education and consistency amongst barista staff. They will engage our baristas both in their initial training as well as continuing education opportunities. They will also be responsible for coordinating and executing these regularly scheduled training opportunities in collaboration with the Retail Management team. They will participate in the broader DRC Education and QC teams to continue building quality and consistency into our products and service. The focus of this role is to create and facilitate training for all DRC barista staff in order to ensure that the standard of DRC beverage preparation and product knowledge is executed. They will promote the skills and tools needed for day-to-day success on the job as coffee and customer service professionals. Crucial to this role is regular engagement at our cafes working as a barista alongside our staff. The DRC Training Coordinator will also act get to act as an ambassador for public facing events in which consumer education is a focus.
Duties Responsibilities:
DRC Internal Education (85%)
  • Plan and coordinate various platforms of training initiatives including our LevelUp sessions
  • Assist in executing new hire orientation including coffee education and barista job skills
  • Monitor employee success with regular check-ins and collaborate with Retail Management team to provide individual follow up training when necessary
  • Perform roughly 1-2 Barista bar shifts per week
  • Educate baristas on new DRC coffees and offerings
  • Develop new content sessions for LevelUp program
  • Update and maintain core training documents in coordination with the Education Team.
  • Coordinate with outside sources for visiting education opportunities
  • Participate in the QC team and communicate standards and updates with Retail Team
  • Maintain training bar area; clean and restock before and after trainings External Responsibilities (15%)
  • Partner with Education Team to execute public classes and events (1-2 per month)
  • Participate as a representative in industry events
Qualifications/requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Five plus years of specialty coffee experience
  • Proactive mindset, brings new ideas to the team

Flexible Schedule/Hrs:
40hrs/wk; Flexibility on weekends a must
