Position Summary Academia Azteca is seeking an energetic, passionate, and motivated individual to serve as a Youth Development Coach. The Youth Development Coach is responsible for supporting, coordinating, and implementing high-quality programs for youth and families served by El Concilio. This role emphasizes mentoring, cultural responsiveness, and engagement in bilingual/bicultural environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth development, demonstrates strong leadership Key Areas of ResponsibilityProgram Coordination & Implementation (Youth & Adult Programs) Assist in planning, coordinating, and delivering daily youth programs including after-school, enrichment, and cultural activities. Assist in creating and implementing lesson plans to support youth learning and engagement. Decorate and maintain classroom bulletin boards and other learning spaces to enhance the program environment. Ensure all program spaces are clean, organized, and ready for activities. Support program registration, attendance tracking, and communication with families. Implement lesson plans and activities in collaboration with program staff. Ensure all programs adhere to El Concilio policies, safety standards, and cultural expectations. Youth Engagement & Mentorship Build positive and trusting relationships with youth participants. Facilitate activities that promote social emotional learning, cultural identity, and leadership skills. Encourage youth participation in program activities and community service. Communication & Collaboration Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure smooth program operations. Assist in creating materials such as flyers, bulletin boards, newsletters, and educational resources. Maintain professional communication with families, addressing questions, or concerns. Collaborate with cross-department teams to support organization-wide initiatives Attend staff meetings, retreats, professional development, and required trainings. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe work environment. Event Support Support special events, field trips, and community engagement activities. Assist with setup, supervision, and follow-up as needed Support El Concilio's fundraising events throughout the year. Represent El Concilio at community events and outreach activities as needed. Provide support during occasional weekend events. Monitoring & Reporting Track youth progress, attendance, and program outcomes. Report observations, incidents, and successes to the Program Director & Coordinator. Contribute to program evaluation and improvement initiatives. Qualifications and Skills Valid Michigan Driver's License (REQUIRED) Bilingual in Spanish & English (REQUIRED). Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting (REQUIRED). Reliable Transportation Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs for programs/events materials. Ability to supervise and participate in active youth programming.
