Job Overview Join our team as an Art Program Coordinator (Part-Time) , where you will inspire creativity and foster self-expression for youth ages 7-17. Under the direction of the Education Director, you will create a safe, vibrant, and inclusive environment while leading structured visual, craft, and creative arts programming that promotes artistic growth, confidence, and positive youth development. This role is ideal for someone passionate about the arts who enjoys working directly with youth in a hands-on setting to help Club Members explore their creativity. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead engaging, age-appropriate art and craft programs for youth ages 7-17. Supervise youth attending the art area, ensuring physical safety and positive behavior management. Integrate creative arts projects with overall Club goals, promoting self-esteem, cultural awareness, and skill development. Maintain, organize, and inventory art supplies, equipment, and studio spaces. Request art supplies and materials in a timely manner to support program activities. Display member artwork and create visual displays/bulletin boards to celebrate member achievements and showcase Club projects. Maintain accurate records of program attendance, participation, and project outcomes. Communicate regularly with team members regarding program updates, member progress, and supply or facility needs. Assist in submitting weekly and monthly reports, documentation, and program data. Ensure all arts programming aligns with the mission and goals of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lansing. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of various art mediums, techniques, and creative processes suitable for youth. Ability to plan, organize, and lead group art activities in a dynamic setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Positive, patient, and youth-centered approach to instruction and behavior guidance. Ability to motivate youth and maintain high participation in creative activities. Ability to work collaboratively as part of an extension site team. Qualifications Experience in visual arts, creative crafts, or art education preferred. Experience working with youth ages 7-17 required. CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire). Must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and actively engage with youth during hands-on art projects for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (art supplies, equipment, displays). Ability to supervise indoor and outdoor creative activities.
