Join our dynamic team and help shape the future of connectivity! Socket is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Technical Trainer to join our talented workforce. This role develops and delivers training that helps employees understand, install, maintain, and support fiber optic technologies. You will translate complex fiber equipment, systems, and processes into clear, hands-on learning experiences for new hires and existing employees. This role will also take part in quality assurance to ensure that all installations are completed to the highest standard. A Day in the Life Your day may begin by reviewing training schedules, preparing equipment, and making sure course materials reflect current fiber technology and safety practices. You might lead a classroom workshop, facilitate a virtual session, or guide employees through a hands-on lab involving fiber optic systems, equipment, and field processes. Throughout the day, you'll answer technical questions, coach learners, track progress in the Learning Management System, and partner with subject matter experts to keep training practical, accurate, and relevant. What You'll Do Key responsibilities include:
- Lead instructor-led workshops, virtual classes, and hands-on lab sessions for new hires and existing employees
- Create training manuals, digital learning modules, job aids, guides, and practical assessments
- Use a Learning Management System (LMS) to track learner progress, assessment results, completion records, and feedback
- Update courses and resources to reflect telecom advancements, software updates, equipment changes, and applicable safety standards
- Answer technical questions and provide individual coaching or performance remediation when needed
- Gather learner feedback and review assessment results to improve training content and delivery
- Collaborate with technical leaders and subject matter experts to validate training accuracy and align instruction with operational needs
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure installations are completed according to Socket Fiber's standards
- Maintain regular, reliable attendance What We're Looking For To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:
- Two to five years of experience in telecommunications, network engineering, or a dedicated technical training role
- Working knowledge of fiber optic technology, installation practices, equipment, and field operations
- Ability to develop and deliver instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on technical training
- Strong public speaking, active listening, coaching, and facilitation skills
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to different audiences
- Experience using an LMS to manage training records and learner progress
What Will Help You Stand Out Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience developing digital learning content, practical assessments, and technical job aids
- Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation, fiber equipment, or field operations
- Experience evaluating training effectiveness and improving content based on results and learner feedback
- Ability to partner effectively with technical subject matter experts and operational leaders
