Job Description

Position Summary The Talent & Professional Development Specialist is responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining a skilled construction workforce. This role leads recruiting efforts across field and office positions while designing and managing professional development, training, and career path programs that support safety, productivity, and long‑term employee retention. The position works closely with operations, safety, and leadership to ensure the company has the right people with the right skills at the right time. Key Responsibilities
  • Recruiting & Talent Acquisition Lead full‑cycle recruiting for field, supervisory, technical, and administrative positions Partner with operations and project leadership to identify workforce needs Develop recruiting pipelines including trade schools, apprenticeships, referrals, and job fairs Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offers Track recruiting metrics such as time‑to‑fill and new‑hire retention Onboarding & Workforce Integration Design and oversee onboarding programs for field and office employees Coordinate orientation, safety training, and job‑specific onboarding Ensure new hires understand company expectations, policies, and career paths Professional Development & Training Develop training programs for field employees, supervisors, and managers Coordinate technical skills training, safety training, and leadership development Support apprenticeship, mentorship, and succession planning initiatives Career Development & Retention Design career paths for field and supervisory roles Support performance review and employee development planning Analyze turnover trends and recommend retention strategies Qualifications•Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience 3-5+ years of recruiting or workforce development experience, preferably in construction or skilled trades Strong communication, organization, and relationship‑building skills Qualifications•Preferred Experience in construction, utilities, or industrial environments Knowledge of apprenticeship programs and trade‑school partnerships HR certification such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, or PHR Work Environment Combination of office, jobsite, and recruiting event presence Occasional travel to jobsites, trade schools, or job fairs
