Job Overview:
This position is accountable for identifying development needs (of all levels of the organization), instructional design, program development, implementation and evaluation to meet strategic business needs. The Training & Development Specialist provides leadership and best practices in support of improving our patient-centered, culture of safety, service and performance management. The Training Specialist creates and facilitates learning and development programs using adult learning theories and experiential learning concepts with diverse groups.
Qualifications:
Required :
BA/BS degree Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources, Organization Development, Training & Development, Education, Performance Improvement Experience in creating and facilitating learning and development programs using adult learning theories and experiential learning concepts with diverse groups. Proven ability to effectively facilitate groups and communicate with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization.
Preferred :
Master's degree preferred

Essential Functions:
Works collaboratively with Education, Human Resources, Patient Experience, Quality Resource Services and other departments as needed. Participates in new employee on boarding and orientation as needed. Participates in designated Medical Center and System committees. Promote the Mission, Values and Vision with the deployment of strategic Leadership frameworks; identifying gaps in performance at all levels of staff and leadership, and proposing approaches, curriculum, tools, and validation as appropriate. Provide expertise and support to OD change initiatives. Providing counsel to supervisors and managers in diagnosing and addressing individual and team learning needs. Promote best practices, integration and organizational development and learning and work closely with hospital leaders to execute on the organizational development goals. Develops & facilitates cohesive leadership & staff learning programs that include classroom type, interactive as well as on-line learning. This includes project work, coaching & opportunities to share best practices. Measures effectiveness of strategies and programs; implements adjustments as needed to ensure achievement of established goals. Works with third parties (PG, etc.) regarding data integration and plans of correction affecting the Culture of Patient Safety and Service Excellence Assesses organizational development needs through a variety of methods; prepares and presents recommendations. Provides OD interventions that reinforce RWJBH's vision, mission and goals.
