Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled SMT/BGA Rework Certified Trainer to lead technical training initiatives focused on surface-mount technology (SMT) and ball grid array (BGA) rework processes. This role is essential for developing and delivering comprehensive instructional programs that enhance the technical proficiency of manufacturing, electronics, and maintenance professionals. The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in SMT/BGA rework, certification expertise, and a passion for educating diverse learners through engaging online and classroom instruction. Duties Serve as a certified trainer for SMT/BGA rework procedures, ensuring adherence to industry standards and safety protocols. Evaluate trainee competency through practical demonstrations and written assessments. Maintain training records and certification documentation. Ensure all training complies with IPC standards and company quality requirements. Demonstrate proper use and maintenance of BGA rework stations, soldering equipment, microscopes, and inspection tools. Provide coaching and mentoring to technicians to improve workmanship and productivity. Identify skill gaps and recommend additional training as needed. Assist with process improvements and standard operating procedures. Support quality investigations related to workmanship and provide corrective training when necessary. Requirements- Proven certification in SMT/BGA rework processes from recognized industry authorities or manufacturers. Extensive hands-on experience with SMT assembly/disassembly, BGA rework stations, hot air rework tools, X-ray inspection techniques, and related equipment. Strong background in electronics manufacturing or repair environments; experience working with post-secondary students is highly desirable. Knowledge of technical skills instruction across multiple disciplines including HVAC/R systems, automotive repair/diagnostics, aircraft maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, hydraulics, welding, and mechanical systems. Proficiency with educational technologies such as computers for course design and online instruction platforms like Blackboard or similar LMS. Ability to develop comprehensive training curricula tailored for adult learners in technical fields; prior experience in higher education teaching is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences. Familiarity with safety standards including OSHA regulations relevant to manufacturing and maintenance environments.
