A Technical Trainer is responsible for designing and leading technical training programs for staff at an organization or company. Works with the employees to determine their technical requirements and therefore their training needs and objectives; provides presentations, workshops or technology-supported training.

Responsibilities include:
Teach Technical Problem Solving , an introductory engineering technology course for students entering engineering technology programs at Lorain County Community College. Deliver engaging, in-person instruction at the Lorain Correctional Institution (LorCI) and/or Grafton Reintegration Center (GRC) in Grafton, Ohio. Teach students to apply a structured problem-solving methodology to technical and engineering-related problems. Instruct students in the use of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Windows file management, and other computer applications commonly used in engineering technology. Incorporate current instructional technologies, including the Canvas Learning Management System, to support student learning and assessment. Evaluate student learning through assignments, projects, quizzes, and other assessment methods. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress in accordance with Lorain County Community College and Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) policies. Communicate effectively with students, division faculty, and college staff. Comply with all Lorain County Community College and Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC) policies and procedures governing instruction within correctional facilities. Courses may be scheduled during daytime or evening hours. Course Topics Include Structured problem-solving methodologies Critical thinking and decision making Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Windows operating system and file management Internet research and information literacy Teamwork and professional communication Ethical decision making Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a closely related technical field. Minimum of five years of relevant professional industry experience. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Ability to use instructional technology, including a learning management system, to manage course materials, attendance, and grades. Ability to teach effectively in a diverse learning environment. Ability to meet all security and background requirements necessary to teach within an Ohio correctional institution. Availability to teach in person at the Lorain Correctional Institution and/or Grafton Reintegration Center. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Education, or a closely related discipline. Previous teaching experience in higher education, technical education, workforce training, military training, or adult education. Experience using the Canvas Learning Management System. Experience working with adult learners, nontraditional students, or justice-impacted populations. Demonstrated ability to integrate applied, hands-on learning into technical instruction.
