Peer Recovery Support Specialist - CRS / CPS FIRST Center is hiring Peer Recovery Support Specialists for
FIRST CARES
Rural Recovery Support and Workforce Pathways, a SAMHSA Building Communities of Recovery initiative serving Bedford, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, and Mifflin Counties. These are nonclinical, peer-based positions for individuals who can use lived experience professionally to help people strengthen recovery, build connections, navigate resources, and move toward greater stability and employment. What You Will Do Provide person-centered, nonclinical peer recovery support to adults and families affected by substance use and co-occurring recovery needs. Support recovery planning, goal setting, recovery capital development, and connection to natural and community supports. Provide warm handoffs and resource navigation for behavioral health, recovery, housing, transportation, employment, education, and other community needs. Help participants identify recovery-to-workforce and employment pathways. Conduct outreach, follow-up, and community connection activities across the five-county service area. Work collaboratively with recovery organizations, behavioral health providers, workforce partners, employers, and community agencies. Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, accurate documentation, and recovery-oriented, person-first practice. Qualifications Lived experience consistent with the requirements of a bona fide peer-support role and the ability to use lived experience professionally. Pennsylvania peer/recovery certification such as Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS), Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), CRSS, CFRS, or another role-appropriate recognized credential is required or must be obtained according to the approved service model and agency timeline. Strong communication, reliability, documentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work respectfully with people following multiple pathways of recovery. Ability and willingness to travel throughout Bedford, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, and Mifflin Counties. Position Details FIRST Center anticipates multiple Peer Recovery Support Specialist positions.

Pay:
$15.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
