THE POSITION
The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and facilitating pre-service CASA training curriculum; providing ongoing volunteer screening; assisting the Intake Coordinator with matching new CASA volunteers to a case; coordinating and implementing Peer Coordinator (PC) training; providing ongoing in-service training opportunities for CASAs and PCs.
REQUIREMENTS
Commitment to CASA of Lane County's mission, vision, and organizational values Strong communication skills and ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks autonomously with attention to detail and accuracy Bachelor's degree and at least 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience and skill with database software, Word and Excel, other relevant software applications Three to five years direct teaching experience with adult learners required Oral Communication

This position requires in-person work as necessary (teaching classes, attending meetings, etc.), with the remaining work to be completed remotely or in-person, according to Training Coordinator's preferences and program needs Ability to pass a detailed background check including criminal and child welfare history Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Lane County
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS GENERAL
Assists the Volunteer Coordinator in interviewing potential CASA Trainees Attends required staff meetings and provides training-relevant updates and input Works collaboratively with Supervisors and CASA volunteers ensuring volunteers continue to meet or exceed compliance and quality standards Meet with Program Director on a quarterly or as-needed basis Advises Program Director of trainee concerns Recommends new or modified courses/curriculum that would benefit CASA of Lane County and the children we serve Serving as a CASA volunteer could benefit this position, but is not required Views training content and delivery methods through the lens of continuous improvement, modifying and adjusting to meet the needs of CASA and PC volunteers All other duties as assigned
PRE-SERVICE TRAINING
("CASA
UNIVERSITY
") The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, designing, and teaching all aspects of the pre-service training, including maintaining records on all trainees, and facilitating the hand-off of newly sworn-in CASAs to their respective CASA Supervisors.
SPECIALIZED TRAININGS
The Training Coordinator is responsible for planning, designing, and teaching trainings for special groups of volunteers, including Peer Coaches, CASAs eligible for Fostering Futures, and Academic Empowerment Advocates. These trainings shall be offered as needed by program demands.
IN-SERVICE TRAINING
(CONTINUING
EDUCATION
) The Training Coordinator is responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating a variety of Continuing Education options for CASA volunteers. These events include sessions taught by CASA staff, virtual webinars, and outside speakers. The Training Coordinator will coordinate the sign-up for each event, and will follow up to ensure that CASA volunteers enter their attendance in their Optima training logs.

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on: Program Director job expectations Volunteer feedback and retention Successful curriculum development and execution Quality of training systems, curriculum, and participant feedback
