JOB SUMMARY
The Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for administration, compliance and facilitation of MCTS workforce development and training initiatives to drive employee growth. Reporting to the Learning and Development Manager, this role is the primary administrator for the MCTS Apprentice program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with the planning, creation, and implementation of each year's training courses and materials. Maintain tracking mechanisms for completed training for all employees including but not limited to; courses completed, pre-and post-training evaluations and feedback on instructional effectiveness using LMS platform (Dayforce) and other databases. Ensure Compliance with the Department of Workforce Development Apprentice program Oversee the day-to-day administration for the Apprentice program by monitoring progress benchmarks and deadlines and maintaining documentation. Present program overview and updates regularly. Support MCTS employee development by providing clear communication, outreach and resources to foster retention and employee growth. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to provide training that meets needs of the organization and ensure training and reporting deadlines are met. Establish and maintain standard operating procedures, training schedules, instructional materials and reports on outcomes of training and maintain training records for the company. Provide guidance about training opportunities and troubleshoot barriers to enrollment. Assist with gathering data for current and future workforce development grant opportunities. Assist other areas of the Human Resource Department as needed. Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in human resources, Education, Learning & Development or related field preferred. Two (2) years of experience with mentorship programs; State Registered Apprenticeship programs or workforce development programs preferred. One (1) year of experience in Human Resources or Workforce Development required. Experience with HRIS and LMS systems strongly preferred. Dayforce experience a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of training strategies, techniques and best practices. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.). Skilled in computer operations and spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and related software. Ability to work on cross-functional projects and collaborate closely with peers to ensure successful learning outcomes. Ability to balance competing interests from multiple stakeholders. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work independently. Ability to present to others in a variety of presentation platforms and methods. Ability to develop and execute strategies to attain outcomes for set goals. Ability to coach and support others. Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives to develop high-quality training opportunities. Knowledge of best practices around HR policies, and ability to apply them to MCTS operations. Knowledge of human resources trends and best practices. Ability to interpret a variety of labor contracts, governmental laws, and technical information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS
Work is frequently conducted in an office or similar indoor environment. Work may sometimes be located outdoors, in a street location, at a construction site, in the community or in a vehicle. Physical requirements are those described as sedentary work exerting 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently.
