Job Description

Happy Paws is a locally owned and operated mobile nail trimming company. We are currently accepting applications for a part-time Mobile Nail Trimming Specialist to join our team. Compensation is based on experience, is hourly plus tips and mileage compensation. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience trimming nails of dogs and cats or working as a pet groomer in a professional setting (experience with your own pets excluded), experience with anal gland expression, foot, pad and sanitary trims preferred, but willing to train the right candidate. Must be willing to sign a non-compete agreement. The ability to trim dog and cat nails using hand-held pet nail trimmers and dremel tools is required. Familiarity with using styptic powder to stop bleeding when the quick is hit is required, but should rarely be needed due to experience and skill level. Experience handling and reading body language of difficult pets, cats and large dogs preferred. The candidate should also have a high level of customer service and professionalism and work well on their own and with an animal restraining partner when needed. This is a very physically demanding job that requires handling and interaction with pets of all sizes, temperaments, and ages. Candidates must have a reliable vehicle, as nail trims are performed in clients homes with owners holding them or utilizing a doorway restraining device, and therefore candidates must be comfortable entering and working in the clients homes for approximately 10-15 minutes per stop.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent Be able to lift >50lbs Comfortable around any breed of dog, cat or small animal Can tolerate standing for long periods, kneeling or squatting repeatedly Additional skills required: Organizational and multitasking skills Comfortable with technology, including Google calendar and maps Great attention to detail Takes direction well Comfortable working alone with pets and their owners Self motivated Ability to manage time without assistance Maintain positive and calm demeanor in any situation Willingness to learn and grow skills Ability to communicate with clients and coworkers professionally Punctuality and good attendance is a must!

$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
