In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable space for animals in our care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure each pet receives top-quality attention, fostering their well-being and happiness. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, support pet owners, and develop your skills in animal handling and care. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercise, and enrichment activities to promote health and happiness Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough cleaning and sanitization practices Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of illness or distress and communicate any concerns to veterinary staff or management Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to ensure pets are comfortable during their stay Support team lifting efforts when moving animals or supplies to ensure safety for yourself and colleagues Engage in pet grooming and basic training activities to enhance animal comfort and behavior management Requirements Prior experience working with animals in veterinary clinics, pet boarding facilities, or kennels is highly preferred Knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and behavior assessment is essential Experience with pet sitting, dog training, or veterinary assisting will be advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large animals or equipment Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members Willingness to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while caring for animals outdoors or during walks Commitment to maintaining a sanitized environment through proper cleaning and disinfection protocols Join us if you're passionate about animal welfare, eager to learn new skills, and ready to make a positive impact on pets' lives!
