The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals in our facility, ensuring their health and well-being while also assisting with various tasks related to their care. The daily care of boarding pets involves feeding, medicating, cleaning cage/run, bathing and overall monitoring of health of patient while here. Other duties are cleaning of inside and outside runs, laundry, sweeping, mopping and general cleaning. Good customer service skills are a MUST when interacting with clients that are calling to check on, dropping off and picking up their pets.
THIS POSITION DOES REQUIRE SOME WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY WORK!
! Starting pay based on experience. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels and surrounding areas to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff. Handle animals safely and effectively, employing proper restraint techniques when necessary. Provide excellent customer service to pet owners during check-in and check-out processes. Support veterinary staff with basic animal care tasks as required. Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving animals and equipment. Requirements Experience in dog handling or kennel environments is preferred, but not required. Knowledge of animal care practices, including grooming and basic training techniques. Strong skills in animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners. Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and standing for long periods. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
