Job Description

Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and animal-loving Kennel Assistant to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and safety of our furry friends while providing exceptional customer service. This role is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about animals. We are a very fast paced environment with little to no sit down time!
Duties:
  • Assist with daily kennel maintenance, including cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our pets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when engaging with pet owners.
  • Groom and bathe pets as needed typically daily
  • Handle and care for animals, including walking, feeding, administering medication and providing exercise
  • Clean and maintain pet living areas, including cages, runs, and play areas.
  • Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely.
  • Assist with heavy lifting, moving, and transporting animals as needed.
  • Required to work every third weekend, coming in once in the morning and once in the evening on Saturday and Sunday to let dogs out & feed them.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with animals is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and move quickly around the kennel.
  • Knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques.
  • Familiarity with veterinary procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
