DOC Training Academy - England The mission of the Department of Corrections is to be a public safety resource for Arkansas families by providing professional management solutions and evidence-based rehabilitative initiatives for offenders.

All DOC positions are designated as Safety Sensitive Positions and are subject to random drug testing pursuant to the Secretarial Directive governing Personnel Drug Testing. Medical marijuana usage, as defined in Amendment 93 of the Arkansas Constitution, prohibits Personnel in a Safety-Sensitive Position from the use of medical marijuana even if they are qualifying patient under the amendment and/or hold a registry identification card. Department Personnel are prohibited from the use or possession of a medicinal marijuana card pursuant to this policy and state law.

The Training Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and delivery of training programs for the state government employees. The role involves managing a team of trainers, working closely with department leadership to assess training needs, and ensuring that training programs meet the organizational objectives and enhance the skills and performance of employees.



Primary Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of training programs that address the skills and competencies needed for employees within all state agencies.

Oversee the creation of training materials, including manuals, slides, videos, and online resources that support effective learning.

Provide guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations for the training team to ensure high-quality training delivery.

Coordinate and facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and seminars across multiple locations, ensuring training is accessible to all employees.

Oversee logistics, scheduling, and resource management for training programs to ensure they are delivered efficiently and effectively.

Implement evaluation methods (surveys, tests, assessments) to measure the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.



Knowledge and Skills

Strong ability to design and develop training programs and materials that are engaging, effective, and aligned with organizational needs.

Expertise in delivering training in various formats (classroom, virtual, hybrid) and adapting to different learning styles.

Ability to manage multiple training projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.

Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams), and multimedia content creation tools.

Ability to track and report on the progress of trainees, identify performance gaps, and develop strategies for improvement.



Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma is required, plus 5 years of training related experience.
