Job Description

Kennel Attendant/Animal Care Team Member Loving animals is where this job begins—but caring for them well takes much more. All Creatures Veterinary Hospital is looking for a reliable, hardworking person to join our animal care team. This is an active, physical position in a busy veterinary hospital. It involves cleaning, lifting, walking dogs, doing laundry, working in different weather conditions, and paying close attention to every animal in your care. The work is not always easy or glamorous, but it matters. A clean kennel, fresh bedding, a properly secured door, or noticing that an animal is behaving differently can directly affect a patient's comfort and safety. You may be a good fit if you: Notice what needs to be done and take initiative Can follow detailed instructions consistently Take responsibility when you make a mistake Stay productive without needing constant supervision Are comfortable receiving coaching and learning new skills Treat animals gently—even when they are frightened, messy, loud, or difficult Communicate respectfully and work well as part of a team Understand that phones and personal activities must wait while animals need care Can be counted on to arrive on time for scheduled shifts Responsibilities include: Feeding, watering, walking, and monitoring animals Cleaning and disinfecting cages, kennels, runs, bowls, and hospital areas Changing bedding and keeping patients clean and comfortable Reporting health or behavior concerns to the medical team Safely handling animals of different sizes, species, and temperaments Completing laundry, dishes, trash removal, sweeping, and mopping Restocking supplies and assisting other departments when directed Following hospital sanitation, safety, and animal-care procedures This position requires: Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and clean for extended periods Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather Availability for scheduled weekends, holidays, early mornings, evenings, or split shifts Comfort working around bodily fluids, odors, noise, and animals with unknown medical or behavioral histories All Creatures cares for animals every day of the year. Weekend and holiday coverage is shared by the kennel team and is a required part of the position. Previous kennel, farm, animal-care, or veterinary experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to teach someone who brings reliability, humility, curiosity, and a strong work ethic. For someone interested in veterinary medicine, this role can be the first step toward learning additional animal-handling and patient-care skills. Growth is earned through dependable performance, good judgment, teamwork, and demonstrated competency. If you are looking for purposeful work and want to become part of a veterinary team that serves animals and families throughout our community, please apply with a complete work history and resume.
