Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Cat and Kitten Kennel Staff member, where your passion for animal care and love for feline friends will shine! You will be responsible for providing exceptional care, comfort, and cleanliness for cats and kittens in our kennel facility. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of cats and kittens from intake until adoption. Prior work experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter or feline boarding facility is required. Duties Feed, water, and monitor cats and kittens to ensure their health and well-being. Clean and sanitize kennels, bedding, toys, and common areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Assist with pet grooming if needed to keep animals comfortable and clean. Handle animals gently using proper restraint techniques to prevent stress or injury during care or cleaning. Observe animal behavior closely to identify signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly. Support pet boarding activities by assisting with daily routines, exercise, and socialization. Maintain detailed records of animal health, behavior notes, feeding schedules, and cleaning routines. Skills Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician background is required. Experience in animal care facilities demonstrates your ability to handle multiple animals confidently. Proficiency in kennel cleaning, sanitization practices, and pet grooming ensures a safe environment for all animals. Strong animal handling skills with an understanding of animal behavior promote stress-free interactions. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during kennel setup or cleaning tasks is essential. Excellent customer service skills help communicate effectively with team members and potential adopters.
