Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, demonstrating a strong commitment to providing high-quality service to both pets and their owners. This role involves hands-on care of animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility. Duties Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management. Assist with animal restraint during examinations or treatments as needed. Support pet grooming activities as required, ensuring pets are clean and presentable. Engage with pet owners in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Participate in training sessions for dogs when applicable, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques. Handle heavy lifting when moving animals or cleaning supplies as necessary. Qualifications Experience in dog handling or kennel environments is preferred. Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles is highly desirable. Familiarity with animal care practices including pet grooming, pet sitting, and general animal handling. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with animal care. Knowledge of animal restraint techniques is beneficial. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential.
