Company Introduction Poodle Nook Pet Grooming is a long established salon in Citrus Heights, Ca. Our salon's mission has been to provide outstanding grooming experiences for pets and their owners by focusing on individual pet needs, utilizing low-stress handling, and expanding client education. Our salon offers competitively priced high quality grooming services in a relaxing one-on-one style salon environment. Job Description At Poodle Nook we understand that a groomer's time is best spent practicing their craft. Our groomer's responsibilities include bathing, trimming/clipping/shaving, and styling pets. A strong candidate will possess the skills to follow owner's instructions/special requests, as well as perform all haircuts to breed standard as requested. In addition the candidate will be able to maintain a clean and safe grooming area. We have a strong reception team that handles all aspects of client communication, check-ins, check-outs, and payment processing. Job Responsibilities Bathe, brush, trim, and scissor pets' coat according to owner's preferences Clip and buff nails, clean ears, express anal glands, and teeth brushing Assess the condition of the pet's coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Identify and report any health issues or concerns to appropriate team members Maintain a clean and safe grooming area Keep accurate and thorough records of services provided Identify, understand, and anticipate pet behavior based on pet's body language Maintaining a safe grooming environment for pets Job Requirements 3 years experience as a Pet Stylist/Groomer Knowledge of different breeds and their grooming requirements Attention to detail Physical ability to lift and restrain pets up to 40 pounds. Certification through the National Dog Groomer Association of America is advantageous but not required Compensation Poodle Nook offers a "pro-sal" compensation style. This means you will receive an hourly wage, and a production bonus on sales over your minimum revenue base.
