Job Description

Dogtopia, the industry leader in dog daycare, boarding, and spa services has an immediate opening for an energetic, organized, self-motivated, hard-working individual to build our grooming service to complement our day care service in Davis, CA. This person
MUST LOVE DOGS
... and
MUST HAVE
one year's experience as a professional dog groomer ! (We do not train groomers.)
Day-to-Day Responsibililties:
Welcome Dogtopians at drop off and pick up of their dogs Cultivating an outstanding Dogtopia experience — provide dog parents with professional advice and education for caring for their dog Professionally perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, drying, ear and teeth cleaning, expression of anal glands, & trimming nails Detangle or remove matted fur with patience Follow the parent's instructions and/or breed profiles/standards when clipping or trimming a dog's coat Keep the spa impeccably clean, organized, and sanitized Maintain records of grooming treatments and other pet information Must be responsible with grooming equipment and tools including clippers and shears Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs Utilize equipment and materials properly Communicate effectively and compassionately with pet parents, respond promptly to customer needs, welcomes customer feedback to improve service, and respond to all requests for service
Requirements:
Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year's experience as a professional dog groomer or stylist Have strong knowledge of breed standards, preferably with photographs to prove your skills Excellent scissoring techniques Strong communication skills to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction Ability to handle small and large dogs up to 120 pounds Work in a standing position for long periods of time Reach, bend, stoop, and lift 50 pounds Attentive to details Thrive in a fast-paced environment Positive attitude Team player LOVE dogs
Schedule:
This position is part-time, 2 to 3 days per week. • Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat • Weekends as needed
Pay:
