Big Woof Pet Supplies & Spa is a locally owned pet store and grooming spa in Lafayette, CA. Our grooming salon is designed around a calm, personalized experience for every dog—not an assembly-line approach to getting as many dogs through the door as possible. We're looking for a talented groomer to join our growing team and help us continue building a grooming program where great work, great client relationships, and great care for the dogs all matter. You'll:

Provide full-service dog grooming including bathing, drying, brush-outs, haircuts/styling, nail care, ear cleaning, and external anal gland expression Perform add-on services such as deshedding, mud treatments, teeth brushing, and other appropriate spa services Practice Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques Build relationships with pet parents and communicate clearly about grooming preferences, coat condition, maintenance, and at-home care Maintain accurate grooming notes and client information Work efficiently while prioritizing the safety and emotional well-being of every dog Recognize when a dog's physical or emotional needs require a change in the grooming plan Keep your workspace clean, organized, stocked, and welcoming Work collaboratively with the grooming and retail teams Help us continue building a grooming program we're proud of We're Looking For Someone Who Has at least 2 years of professional dog grooming experience ; more is a plus Is comfortable grooming a variety of breeds, sizes, coat types, and temperaments Has strong technical grooming and styling skills Takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work Can safely lift and support dogs over 50 lbs with team assistance Is confident with nail clipping/grinding, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and external gland expression Has excellent communication and customer service skills Understands that every dog is an individual and may require a different approach Is dependable, professional, kind, and team-oriented Wants to work in a salon where quality of care matters as much as the finished haircut Fear Free Grooming certification is preferred, but not required for the right candidate. Big Woof will provide certification or renewal.
