DEN Urban Dog Retreat is looking for an experienced, energetic and genuinely dog-loving person to join our team. This is a hands-on dog daycare and overnight care position for someone who loves being active, understands dog behavior, takes pride in keeping an environment clean and organized, and is confident caring for groups of dogs.

THE SCHEDULE

This position averages approximately 25 hours per week and requires flexibility.

Regular afternoon schedule:

1:00 PM-5:00

PM Plus:

1 overnight shift per week 1 weekend per month Some holiday availability Additional hours may occasionally be available Overnight and weekend availability are an important part of this position. We're looking for someone who can make this schedule a consistent part of their life — not someone looking for occasional shifts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your afternoon shifts will focus on helping our daycare team finish the day strong: Supervise indoor and outdoor dog playgroups Read canine body language and group dynamics Maintain safe, balanced and positive social groups Redirect behavior before situations escalate Provide enrichment, affection and individual attention Help dogs transition between yards, rooms, rest and activities Maintain fresh water and follow individual feeding/care instructions Clean and sanitize daycare spaces Laundry, bedding, dishes and bowls Maintain organized rooms, yards, carts and supplies Prepare dogs for afternoon departures Communicate important behavioral or health observations Support client handoffs when needed Help reset the facility for the following day

OVERNIGHT CARE

On your scheduled overnight, you'll help create a calm, safe and comfortable lodge experience for our boarding dogs. Responsibilities may include evening feeding, medications according to instructions, final bathroom breaks, settling dogs for the night, maintaining a peaceful environment, monitoring dogs, morning bathroom breaks and communicating anything unusual to management. Overnight care requires someone who is responsible, observant and comfortable being entrusted with our dogs and facility.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We want someone who is: Experienced with dogs. Professional daycare, boarding, kennel, veterinary, shelter, rescue, training, grooming or pack-walking experience is strongly preferred. Confident with groups. You're comfortable around different breeds, sizes, personalities and energy levels. Active and physically fit. You'll spend much of your shift standing, walking, bending, cleaning and interacting with dogs. Observant and calm. Great dog handlers notice subtle changes in body language and know how to respond without creating more energy. Clean and organized. At DEN, dog care and facility care go together. Our services include daycare, boarding, grooming and spa services, training, pack hikes, shuttle services, enrichment and holistic wellness experiences. Our dogs aren't numbers. We learn their personalities, friendships, habits, sensitivities and individual needs.
