The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and grooming services for pets. This role involves working closely with pets of various breeds and temperaments, ensuring their comfort and safety while delivering high-quality grooming services. The Pet Groomer will also engage with pet owners, providing excellent customer service and advice on pet care. Duties Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for dogs and other pets. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Handle animals safely and comfortably during grooming sessions, utilizing proper animal restraint techniques. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, equipment, and tools to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff. Provide basic health checks on pets during grooming appointments, reporting any concerns to pet owners or veterinary staff as needed. Offer advice to pet owners on proper pet care, including grooming maintenance between visits. Assist with customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service to enhance the client experience. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the grooming facility. Qualifications Proven experience in pet grooming or related fields such as dog training, veterinary technician or assistant roles, or animal handling is preferred. Strong knowledge of various dog breeds and their specific grooming needs. Experience in animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the groomer and the pet. Ability to handle animals of all sizes with care and compassion. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger animals or equipment. Previous kennel experience or pet sitting background is a plus. A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being is essential for success in this role.
