Responsibilities Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, and pet coat styling tailored to each breed and owner preferences Handle animals with care and confidence, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff during grooming procedures Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requests, provide advice on pet coat maintenance, and address any questions or concerns Manage pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other health-related grooming tasks with precision and compassion Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation standards and safety protocols at all times Assist with basic veterinary-related tasks such as animal handling during medical procedures if needed, leveraging veterinary experience or technician background Support pet sitting or caring for animals before or after grooming appointments as required, including heavy lifting of large or heavy pets Skills Proven experience in dog grooming with a strong portfolio of pet styling skills Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary procedures related to animal handling and restraint Background in veterinary technician or assistant roles, with familiarity in animal care protocols and medical terminology Exceptional dog handling skills combined with animal handling expertise to ensure safe grooming sessions Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners confidently and professionally Ability to perform pet nail trimming, bathing, brushing, hair trimming, and breed-specific styling techniques Experience in heavy lifting of large animals or pets is preferred but not required; physical stamina is essential Strong customer service orientation with the ability to build trustful relationships with clients This role is ideal for a groomer who takes pride in quality work, communicates well with clients, and wants a calmer environment where each pet receives one-on-one attention.
