Job Description

Dog Daycare & Boarding Supervisor Happy Tail Happy Dog Boutique Hotel & Spa is seeking an experienced Dog Daycare & Boarding Supervisor to help oversee the day-to-day operation of our daycare and boarding services while coordinating grooming and client-service needs. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring 3+ years of professional dog daycare and/or boarding experience and previous supervisory or management experience. We're looking for someone who understands canine behavior, can confidently lead a team, and is highly organized enough to manage the individual schedules and care needs of multiple dogs throughout the day. Responsibilities Daycare, Boarding & Dog Safety Oversee daily daycare and boarding operations and maintain a safe, organized environment for dogs and staff. Monitor playgroups and recognize canine body language, stress signals, inappropriate play, and potential conflicts. Ensure dogs are appropriately grouped based on size, temperament, energy level, and behavior. Support proper dog handling, feeding, medications, boarding routines, and general care. Document incidents accurately and promptly report health or behavioral concerns to ownership. Maintain high standards for cleanliness, safety, and organization. Daily Dog Scheduling & Care Coordination Track each dog's individual schedule and care requirements throughout the day. Ensure dogs arrive on time for scheduled grooming appointments and other services. Track meals, medications, rest periods, special instructions, and individual care needs. Coordinate with daycare, boarding, grooming, and front-desk staff to ensure scheduled services and care instructions are completed accurately and on time. Team Leadership Direct and support daycare and boarding staff throughout the day. Assign responsibilities and ensure tasks are completed properly. Manage staffing and coverage during scheduled shifts when employees call out or staffing needs change. Step into hands-on daycare, boarding, or other operational duties when additional coverage is needed. Help train and support new employees. Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and accountability. Make sound day-to-day operational decisions when ownership or senior management is not present. Client & Front Desk Support Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with questions and service needs. Assist with appointments, special instructions, and routine client concerns. Communicate professionally and warmly with clients during drop-off, pick-up, and throughout the day. Ensure important client and pet information is clearly communicated to the appropriate team members. Required Qualifications 3+ years of professional dog daycare and/or boarding experience Previous supervisory or management experience Strong knowledge of canine behavior, body language, and safe group play Confidence leading employees in a busy pet-care environment Strong organization, attention to detail, and multitasking skills Strong communication and customer-service skills Dependable and punctual Comfortable working hands-on with dogs and alongside the team Ability to safely handle dogs of varying sizes, temperaments, and activity levels Schedule Full-time Flexible scheduling available Weekend availability required Holiday availability required No on-call coverage required outside scheduled working hours Pay & Benefits Starting pay: $25.00 per hour 90-day performance and compensation review

We're looking for an experienced leader who can keep our daily operation organized, support our team, and help ensure every dog in our care receives safe, attentive, and personalized care.
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
