The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a commitment to providing exceptional grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of pets while delivering high-quality grooming services in a safe and comfortable environment. Duties Perform grooming tasks including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences. Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any health issues that may require veterinary attention. Handle and restrain animals safely during grooming procedures to ensure their comfort and safety. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, including tools and equipment, to promote hygiene and safety standards. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and grooming options. Keep accurate records of services performed on each pet, including any special instructions or concerns noted during grooming. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Skills Proficiency in pet grooming techniques with experience in various breeds is essential. Strong dog handling skills, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals during grooming sessions. Background in veterinary care is highly desirable; experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is a plus. Knowledge of animal care practices, including proper restraint techniques and handling methods for various species. Experience in kennel operations or pet sitting can enhance understanding of animal behavior and care requirements. Excellent customer service skills to build rapport with clients and address their concerns effectively. Ability to lift heavy animals safely as required during grooming procedures.
