In this energetic and physical role, you'll be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for animals in our pet care facility. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals, support pet owners and finding their lost animals, as well as finding them their new Best Friend, and develop your skills in animal handling and pet care. Duties Provide attentive pet care, cleaning, feeding, medication administration, and daily care for animals housed in the shelter. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, common areas, and grooming stations, through sanitization and organization. cleaning of kennels floors and walls, mopping, sweeping dishes, cleaning and washing of litter boxes all are required.. please understand this will be a part of your duties in this job. If this is not desirable, please do not apply.. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques while ensuring their comfort and well-being. Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep pets looking and feeling their best. Support pet boarding services by monitoring animals' behavior, ensuring their safety, and providing enrichment activities. Perform outdoor work including walking dogs, cleaning outdoor kennels, and supervising exercise periods. Collaborate with team members on heavy lifting tasks such as moving large cages or equipment to ensure efficient operations. Deliver excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and status. Experience Candidates should bring a passion for animal care combined with relevant experience such as veterinary technician experience, veterinary assistant roles, or kennel experience. Prior pet sitting or dog training background is highly valued. Familiarity with animal behavior principles, animal handling techniques, and pet grooming is preferred. Candidates must be comfortable performing cleaning duties and sanitization to maintain a hygienic environment. Outdoor work experience is beneficial for supervising outdoor exercise areas. Strong teamwork skills are essential for lifting heavy items safely and working collaboratively in a fast-paced setting. A background in animal restraint techniques and pet care facility sanitization will help ensure the highest standards of safety and cleanliness are upheld at all times.
