Summary As a Kennel Assistant at Cherry Brook Kennels, you will play a vital role in the daily care and well-being of our canine guests. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as needed. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kennel area to ensure a safe environment for pets. Assist with grooming tasks as required, including bathing and brushing. Monitor the health and behavior of dogs to identify any issues or concerns promptly. Engage with dogs through playtime and socialization to enhance their well-being. Support the team in managing check-ins and check-outs of boarding guests. Help with heavy lifting tasks related to moving supplies or equipment as necessary. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during animal handling and care. Qualifications Experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of animal behavior and basic pet care practices. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for kennel operations. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and clients. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques is highly desirable.
