North Haven, CT Job Details Part-time $16.94 an hour 3 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Companion animal handling Animal enclosure cleaning Dog handling Pet care facility disinfecting Full Job Description The Animal Haven, a no-kill shelter for homeless and abandoned cat and dogs, is looking for a part-time Kennel Assistant to work 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday whose responsibilties are: Cleaning the shelter and all of the animal areas in accordance with the shelter's cleaning protocols Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas of the shelter, including the kitchen, sanitation and laundry rooms Feeding and caring for the cats and dogs at the shelter Medicating any sick animals as directed by the Medical Coordinator and/or Shelter Manager Walking the dogs and providing them with enrichment Practicing safe animal handling (with respect to the dogs and cats) Following the work schedule as posted and maintaining accurate time records Performing other duties as directed by the Shelter Manager, Medical Coordinator and/or Adoption Coordinator Must love animals and must be able to work on holidays. Previous shelter, kennel or animal handling experience preferred.
