This vital role involves caring for a variety of pets, primarily dogs, by engaging in daily pet care routines, maintaining cleanliness, and providing companionship. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animal welfare, possess excellent handling skills, and demonstrate a proactive attitude to meet the needs of both animals and their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on animals' lives while developing valuable skills in pet care and animal handling. Duties Provide attentive care to animals, including feeding, watering, administering medication if necessary, and monitoring health status Engage in dog training activities to promote good behavior and obedience Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress Perform pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning to maintain hygiene and comfort Offer pet sitting services by supervising animals during their owners' absence and ensuring their safety and happiness Assist with veterinary-related tasks by supporting veterinary technicians or assistants in routine procedures Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards Conduct regular animal handling exercises to build trust and reduce anxiety for pets Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' needs, behaviors, and health concerns Assist with heavy lifting when necessary for moving supplies or large animals safely Qualifications Proven experience in dog training, pet grooming, or pet sitting preferred Veterinary experience or background as a veterinary technician or assistant highly desirable Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal restraint techniques Prior kennel or animal care experience demonstrating reliability and compassion Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and visitors Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking Knowledge of pet care best practices and animal behavior management A genuine passion for animal welfare combined with a proactive approach to caregiving Join us in creating a caring environment where animals thrive!
