An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Compensation:
(tips typically range from $.50- 2.00 per hour) $15.75/hour + Tips
- Pet Care Specialist $15.10/hour + Tips
- New Hire (first 30 days of employment)

Flexible Schedule 3 Day Workweek Option (3, 12/13 hr shifts a week) Pet Care Specialists are responsible for delivering our core promises, cleanliness, and compassionate care of our customers as well as the pets in our care. This position spends the most time in direct contact with our furry friends. Patience is a must with this position as you will be working with dogs all day. Someone in this position not only must love dogs, but they must also be willing to "get down and dirty". Cleaning suites, pet waste, feeding and medicating dogs, and giving dogs baths are all part of the daily routine. You must excel at communication and observation skills, as well as possess a keen eye for detail and be able to react to inappropriate play quickly. Previous experience is preferred but not required, we will train the right applicant. Sundays are required! Some holiday hours are required.Essential Job Functions:

Must complete ZOOMIES education for a Pet Care Specialist within first 30 days to become a Team Member. Must be customer service oriented High School Diploma or equivalent Previous experience is preferred but not required Some weekend and holiday hours are required Must be able to lift 50 pounds Stand outside (and inside) for extended periods regardless of the weather.Cover Letter:
