An Animal Care Worker or Manager manages animal care and grooming for a retail store that sells pets or for a pet grooming business. May also provide animal care and grooming at a kennel. Works with animals in shelters or rescue organizations. Works primarily with dogs and cats. Assists veterinarians with vaccinations or other procedures; screens people who want to adopt an animal from a shelter and provides information about caring for animals.

Job Description
- Perform grooming and bathing services including brushing, bathing, ear and teeth cleaning, expressing anal glands, trimming nails and styling fur to owner's specification or breed standards
- Maintain grooming records which can include vaccination records, specific grooming needs, special requests from pet owners, and behavioral issues
- Report any abnormalities observed to pet owners
- Ensure all grooming facility and equipment are cleaned/sanitized and in working order
- Educate pet owners on proper coat maintenance
- Ensure the safety and comfort of pets throughout their visit
- Build and maintain good relationships with clients Requirements
- 5 years experience
- Knowledge of different breeds and their grooming styles is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and able to lift 50+lb pets
- Customer Services skills
- must be able to communicate effectively with clients and fellow team members
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high grooming standards
- A plus if already have a loyal client following
- Passion and understanding of animals with a genuine interest in their well-being
