FRONT DESK / PET CARE ASSOCIATE
Social Pawz | Fort Lauderdale, Florida Come work where dogs are part of the job description! Social Pawz is a full-service dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility seeking an energetic, dependable, organized, and genuinely dog-loving Front Desk / Pet Care Associate. This is not a sit-behind-the-desk receptionist role. You will be the welcoming face of Social Pawz while also helping with hands-on pet care, facility cleaning, boarding preparation, and daily operations. What You'll Do Customer Service & Front Desk Welcome pup parents and their dogs warmly and professionally. Answer questions about daycare, boarding, grooming, policies, and services in person and by phone. Assist with scheduling, reservations, check-in, check-out, payments, and customer records. Use the Gingr pet-care management system and maintain accurate customer and pet information. Coordinate closely with daycare, boarding, and grooming team members throughout the day. Help provide an excellent customer experience from drop-off through pick-up. Pet Care & Daily Operations Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to each dog's individual instructions. Administer assigned medications accurately and document completion as required. Prepare boarding kennels with clean bedding and fresh water. Maintain accurate boarding information and communicate special needs to the pet-care team. Remove dishes after meals, refresh water, and wash and disinfect bowls and equipment. Help capture photos of dogs and correctly assign them in Gingr. Keep laundry moving throughout the day, including towels, blankets, and bedding. Check boarding dogs and kennels before closing to ensure every dog is comfortable, secure, and accounted for. Cleaning & Facility Standards Sweep and mop the lobby, hallway, and assigned areas. Clean customer-facing areas, bathrooms, windows, fencing, counters, and work surfaces. Assist with kennel cleaning and follow all Social Pawz sanitation and disinfection procedures. Keep the kitchen, grooming room, lobby, storage areas, and other assigned spaces clean and organized. Remove trash, control odors, and complete assigned weekly or periodic deep-cleaning tasks. Closing Responsibilities Confirm all daycare dogs have been picked up and account for every boarding dog. Verify kennel and crate doors are secure and water hoses are turned off. Complete required cleaning, disinfection, trash removal, and final facility checks. Check exterior and emergency doors, set thermostats, and turn off designated lights, fans, and equipment. Arm the security system, lock the facility, and follow all closing procedures. What We're Looking For A genuine dog lover who is comfortable around dogs of different breeds, sizes, personalities, and energy levels. Friendly, upbeat, dependable, punctual, and naturally good with people. Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, and technology. Clear and professional communication with customers and coworkers. Strong attention to detail when following feeding, medication, boarding, and cleaning instructions. Comfortable performing significant cleaning and sanitation duties. A team-first attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
Preferred experience:
Dog daycare, boarding, grooming, veterinary care, pet care, hospitality, reception, or customer service experience is helpful, but reliability, attitude, and a genuine love for animals are equally important. Physical Requirements Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, reach, kneel, lift, and perform routine cleaning tasks. Work safely around dogs of various sizes and energy levels.
