In this energetic role, you will provide exceptional pet care services, ensuring each dog's physical and emotional well-being through attentive handling, grooming, feeding, and enrichment activities. Your passion for animals and dedication to outstanding customer service will help foster trust with pet owners and ensure every dog feels comfortable, happy, and healthy during their stay or visit. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with dogs of all breeds and temperaments while supporting the smooth operation of our pet care facility. Duties Provide attentive dog handling and animal care, including feeding, walking, grooming, and administering medications as needed Monitor dogs' behavior and health, recognizing signs of stress or illness and communicating concerns to veterinary staff or management Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and outdoor activities to promote physical activity and mental stimulation Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing kennels, grooming areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment for all animals Use animal restraint techniques safely during grooming or veterinary procedures to ensure the safety of both dogs and staff Support pet boarding operations by coordinating check-ins/check-outs, updating pet records, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners Assist with training sessions or behavioral assessments to support dogs' socialization and obedience development Experience Prior veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued for understanding animal health needs Experience in pet sitting, dog training, kennel work or animal handling enhances your ability to manage diverse dog behaviors effectively Background in veterinary assisting or animal care facilities demonstrates familiarity with sanitation protocols and animal restraint techniques Outdoor work experience is beneficial for managing active dogs during walks or playtime in open spaces Strong customer service skills are essential for communicating effectively with pet owners and addressing their concerns confidently Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting tasks necessary for moving supplies or assisting with large dogs Knowledge of pet grooming, animal behavior management, and facility sanitization practices supports a comprehensive approach to dog care This role is perfect for passionate animal lovers eager to make a positive difference in the lives of dogs while developing valuable skills in the pet care industry.
