Our goal is to create a positive grooming experience for both pets and their owners while providing excellent customer service from the moment a client walks through the door. Position Overview We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Front Desk & Grooming Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on position that combines reception/customer service, retail responsibilities, salon organization, and basic grooming assistance . Applicants must have previous experience in at least one of the following areas: Dog grooming, bathing, pet care, or working in a grooming salon Retail/customer service Reception or front desk work Candidates with experience in a pet grooming salon or pet-related business are strongly preferred. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working with dogs, enjoys interacting with customers, can multitask, and is willing to help wherever needed to keep the salon running smoothly. Responsibilities Greet customers and pets in a friendly and professional manner. Answer phone calls, text messages, and customer questions. Schedule, confirm, and manage grooming appointments. Check clients and pets in and out of the salon. Maintain accurate customer and pet information. Process payments and retail transactions. Explain grooming services, pricing, add-ons, and available products to customers. Assist with retail sales and help customers select appropriate products. Support the manager with daily salon operations and administrative tasks. Assist with inventory, product organization, and supply management. Help keep the reception, retail area, bathing area, and grooming salon clean and organized. Assist groomers with dogs when needed. Bathe dogs safely and thoroughly. Brush, de-tangle, and prepare coats before grooming. Dry dogs properly and safely. Monitor dogs while they are in our care and immediately communicate any concerns to the groomer or manager. Help maintain a calm, clean, safe, and professional environment for pets and customers. Assist with social media photos, posts, promotions, and basic marketing when needed. Perform additional salon duties as needed during the workday.

Qualifications Required:

Previous experience in dog grooming/pet care OR retail/customer service/reception . Comfortable working closely with dogs of different breeds, sizes, and temperaments. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Ability to answer phones and communicate professionally with clients. Ability to multitask between customers, appointments, dogs, and salon responsibilities. Reliable, punctual, organized, and detail-oriented. Comfortable using computers, scheduling systems, text messaging, and basic point-of-sale software. Able to work Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM . Willing to clean, organize, assist groomers, and perform hands-on pet care duties. Ability to work as part of a team in a busy grooming salon.

Preferred:

Previous dog grooming salon experience. Dog bathing, brushing, drying, or grooming assistant experience. Retail sales experience. Experience with grooming or appointment scheduling software. Knowledge of dog breeds, coat types, grooming services, and pet-care products.
