• Schedule:

  Full-time (40 hours/week, Monday to Sunday). Includes one weekend day. Normal operational hours are 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with most employees scheduled for four 10-hour shifts.

Candidates must complete background and drug screenings and have the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Job Description:

The Animal Care Specialist is responsible for caring for, cleaning, grooming, and feeding all domestic and exotic animals received at the animal control center.

Key duties include:

• Moving animals to proper shelters and ensuring safe cohabitation.
• Observing animal disposition for adaptability.
• Cleaning and maintaining shelter facilities, grounds, and equipment (including lawn care, trash pickup, and operating cleaning equipment).
• Maintaining livestock and livestock pens.
• Preparing appropriate food mixtures based on animal type, size, and age, ensuring constant access to food and water.
• Sanitizing and disinfecting animal quarters, as well as food and water dishes.
• Monitoring animals for signs of illness or injury, administering medications, vaccinations, and basic wound care.
• Performing routine lab work (blood/fecal testing, skin scrapings) and requesting veterinary services when necessary.
